The Asian Premier League 2017 is an inaugural edition of the tournament, features 19 matches (including 15 group league matches, two semifinals, 3rd place playoff and final).

The tournament feature six franchise teams with former and current international players from different Asian countries – Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
An Indian sports management company Ultimate Sports Management (USM) is in association with the National Sports Council (NSC), Nepal to organize the Asian Premier League (APL) T20 tournament at the TU Cricket Ground from June 19 to July 4.
